Fiona Schrading (M.A.) ist wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf im Rahmen des BMBF-Projekts „Waste Land? Kulturelle Bildung im ländlichen Raum als Pädagogik der Verortung“ (2020-2023). Nach ihrem Studium der Medienkulturanalyse lehrte und forschte sie von 2017 bis 2020 als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Medien- und Kulturwissenschaft in Düsseldorf zu Themen des queer-feministischen Materialismus und Medienökologie, zum Anthropozän und Konzeptionen des Lebendigen sowie zur post- und dekolonialen Theorie. Im Rahmen ihrer Promotion zum Thema „Praktiken der Re-Lokalisierung von Vergangenheit und Zukunft im Anthropozän“ geht sie aktuell der Frage nach, wie Zeit neomaterialistisch als eine Praxis verstanden werden kann und wie sorgende Zeitpraktiken in Zeiten von Klimakrise, Artensterben und Neokolonialismus möglich sind. Sie ist Assoziiertes Mitglied am DFG-Graduiertenkolleg „Ästhetische Praxis“ an der Universität Hildesheim. Im Projekt arbeitet Fiona Schrading vorrangig zu Theorien des Neuen Materialismus, der Affekttheorie, feministischer Wissenschaftsforschung, mehr-als-menschlichen Landschaften und Fragen von Digitalität. Den Fokus des Projekts auf räumliche Praktiken und Praktiken der Verortung von institutionellen und dörflichen Akteur_innen möchte sie gerne um die Frage nach zeitlichen Praktiken erweitern. Sie forscht an der Arthur-Boskamp-Stiftung in Hohenlockstedt, Schleswig-Holstein.

Fiona Schrading (M.A.) is a research assistant at the Düsseldorf Academy of Arts within the BMBF project “Wasteland? Rural Areas as Affective Space and Cultural Education as Pedagogy of Situating” (2020-2023). After her studies in media cultural analysis, she taught and researched as a research assistant at the Institute for Media and Cultural Studies in Düsseldorf from 2017 to 2020 on the topics of queer-feminist materialism and media ecology, the Anthropocene and conceptions of the living, as well as post- and decolonial theory. For her PhD on „Practices of Re-localizing Past and Future in the Anthropocene,“ she is currently exploring how time can be understood neo-materialistically as a practice and how caring practices of time are possible in times of climate crisis, species extinction, and neo-colonialism. She is an associate member of the DFG Research Training Group „Aesthetic Practice“ at the University of Hildesheim. In the project, Fiona Schrading works primarily on theories of New Materialism, affect theories, feminist science studies, more-than-human landscapes, and questions of digitality. She would like to expand the project’s focus on spatial practices and practices of localization from institutional and village actors* to include the question of temporal practices. She is doing research at the Arthur Boskamp-Foundation in Hohenlockstedt, Schleswig-Holstein.
